CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY FOR ALL EMERGENCIES

Provide BIB number so they can notify your emergency contact as per your registration form.

SAGs to pick-up any bikes left behind.
IN CASE OF ACCIDENT:
-
Move self and bicycle ALL the way off the road, if able
-
If assisting a fallen rider, practice simple first aid and call 9-1-1
-
Help to make the injured rider comfortable but do NOT move. Help keep the rider calm until EMS personnel arrive. Create a barrier around the injured rider, if necessary, to divert traffic (i.e.; traffic control), until EMS personnel arrive.

Do NOT leave the injured rider alone (keep a minimum of two (2) people with rider) unless you must go to get help.

If injured rider’s life is in danger, administer chest only compressions (CPR) until EMS personnel arrive

Provide water if injured rider requests it

SAG to pick-up any bikes left behind

Use common sense!

To request a ride from a SAG vehicle: safely move off road, be off your bike, remove your helmet & wave helmet to approaching SAG vehicle

If safely able, proceed to the nearest Breakpoint for assistance

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:

Hydrate and eat before, during and after the event
-
Follow ALL COVID protocols – see separate communication

Helmets ARE always required (must comply with US Consumer Products Safety Commission)

No listening devices on one or both ears – headphones, cell phones, ear buds
-
Obey all state & local traffic laws
-
Obey all Law Enforcement Personnel
-
Obey all Ride Officials, SAG drivers & Volunteers
-
Perform the A B C Quick Check on your bike
-
Practice appropriate cycling & safety etiquette at all times
-
Never cross the yellow line into oncoming traffic
-
Stay right and pass only on the left
-
Ride single file unless passing other cyclists and NEVER more than two abreast
-
Communicate warnings/hazards and use verbal AND hand signals
-
Never overlap the wheel of the bicycle in front of you
-
Ride predictably!
